Blue Bridge West

About this Stop

Originally a railroad bridge, the Blue Bridge has become a very popular pedestrian bridge downtown.

Some Facts

  • When rail traffic ceased in the 1980s, the span was restored, painted its distinctive blue color, and became a pedestrian walkway across the Grand River known as the Blue Bridge.
  • Looking north from the west end of the bridge at night offers a fabulous view of the lit up carosuel pavillion in the Public Museum.
